NEW • Development Release: Vine Linux 4.0 RC1 |
| Daisuke Suzuki has announced the availability of the first release candidate of Vine Linux 4.0. Although it arrives some two weeks after its projected release date, if no major issues are found, the final version can be expected in about two weeks from now. The only major change since beta 4 is the status of apt-line, the Vine Linux package manager, which now points to the 4.0 repository by default, for both the main distribution and VineSeed packages. The developers also request that all testers run a media check on the installation CD before submitting bug reports; this can be done with a 'linux mediacheck' command at boot prompt. Please read the release announcement and visit the Vine Linux Beta information page (both links in Japanese) for more information. The i386 and PowerPC CD images are available for download from here: Vine40rc1-i386.iso (631MB, SHA1), Vine40rc1-ppc.iso (654MB, SHA1). |
