This is the first distro that I have ever given a 10/10 review. I started using ArcoLinux XFCE, which was very easy on resources especially on a 19 year old Dell XPS M1530 with an NVIDIA card to boot! And everything worked.
When I purchased my new Dell XPS 15, the first thing I did was to wipe it clean and install ArcoLinuxB-Plasma. To my surprise the distro used only 200MB more memory than the XFCE version. The 8 cores are flat lined until you start to compile or perform audio/video editing and then they snap to life.
It comes loaded with all the basic software and more, maybe to much, but as a developer, it had "All the right stuff" out of the box.
I've always been an Arch fan due to it's highly configurable options, (roll your own), and stability, but ArcoLinux is the best of breed.
I'm very happy with the distro and I think you will be too. :~)

It's stable and quick. The interface is easy to use and the rolling release makes for great long term support. One complaint would be along the top of the screen where it shows resource consuption, there appears to be no way to shut off the display. Perhaps I have simply not found a way to get rid of it to free up more screen space.

Distro to learn and "have fun", but in two months that I have used it, it has broken the updates of aur packages twice. Not recommended in production environments or for end users. The update system requires the use of 4 different "alias" commands in the terminal.
In short, it is not a normal distro to use, it is loaded with many unnecessary packages.

ArcoLinuxD is the perfect base to build the perfect system. I had no problems at all!
There are always very good help text and videos on the Arcolinux-websites so that a user that starts the first days with Archlinux like me is able to build a gnome minimal via command-line and after that enjoying the gnome desktop.
Very fast - very stable and much fun!

Erik Dubois does an amazing job with his tutorials, scripts and videos for ArcoLinux. Many times I have been following the Arch wiki steps for something to only find out that Erik already configured something for me. The biggest thing (being Arch) was the inclusion of the awesome Calamares installer. This is the distro that finally got me on Linux full time for good. Looking forward to continually learning with Arco.

Close to awesome, with major issues. Good: Holy-smokes is it fast! Runs fast, blazingly fast boot. Pamac package installer is a pleasure to use. Nice community. Decent desktop configuration & theme. BAD (enough to make me drop it): Many little things don't work initially or at all, like video HW acceleration, KDE Plasma Widgets, network @ 1Gbps. These are show-stoppers. Annoyances: need root password to mount a drive. Pleasures: I can use SU all day. Did I say it was fast? I've used > dozens of different distros, this is BY FAR the fastest I've ever used. It boots in literally 2 seconds. Nothing lags. Desktop is snappy, applications are snappy. I don't know what they did to it to make it so fast, but it is, and I'm running the beautiful pig KDE Plasma. I love Arch, usually run Manjaro, tried this, gonna try another. I think I said it was fast.

Using Arcolinux for half a year now.
Arcolinux documentation and tutorials, together with the arch wiki, are a big pro. Good organized.
It stimulates me to learn and explore Linux more.
Their YouTube tutorials are growing everyday. Thanks to Erik Dubios.
I think this project brings arch closer to a bigger audience. You can install it like any other distro or be more specific with your ISO. Step by step they will guide you in these processes.
A minor point for me, are the Sardi icons as default. Though i see it fits the project. I just don't like them.
Very informative and challenging project. Big thumbs up!
My main DE is Arcolinux I3-gaps on a compaq 8200 elite.

I've been a proud user of this distro for 18 months - release-by-release, it's improving on any possible dimension. It runs so smoothly both on my old Thinkpad and the fancy workstation I use at the office.
Over the last six years, I gave also a chance at a couple of Debian- and Arch-based distros. I've got to say there's nothing that is minimally close to ArcoLinux.
Yup, E. Dubois is the man, definitely!

Been using ArcoLinux since a few months and everything just work.
Installation is straightforward, other distros in hard drive are detected and added to boot menu without issues.
Packages are left unmodified from upstream and that's mostly ok.
Major new versions of applications are quickly added, like Gnome 3.34 a few days ago and Linux 5.3.0 today, with no issues, so far.
I recommend ArcoLinux to any user with basic knowledge of Linux.

Super impressed with ease of installment even on my old HP laptop from like 2006.
Has lot of apps (cinnamon version)....like the Vivaldi browser however it come loaded with Firefox and Chromium also...has a Conky built in and my only complaint with that is I have not found a setting control for Conky ...if it has one.
Everything seems to work right out the box .....would not surprise me if this does not go to number 1 on Distrowatch soon.
I do not know how resources heavy this is yet wish i could tell you but not sure...it does seem my fan runs a lot more with this loaded over Puppy linux 64 Bionicpup which I have been using on this laptop.
Cons........so far maybe its a little bit resource heavy because its the cinnamon desktop.....should have used xfce but wanted to try out this one.
My BIGGEST concern with every day use is its ARCH.....AND I have used ARCH based Manjaro before and updates kill it....hope this one is better .....but again its ARCH SO have to wait and see.....

The best distro. I installed XFCE, Gnome and the deepin variants. Finally kept the deepin one. It looks very elegant and working perfectly well with out any lag and also easily configurable. Although a bit heavy on memory. If you have at least 4gb RAM, go for deepin. you will not feel the need for any other distro. I am dual booting with windows10, but now working only with deepin.
Arco team has done really well in streamlining the packages, and the installation is simple and fast.

Long time user of Manjaro Linux (~2 years). I recently downloaded the base version of Arcolinux and love everything about it. I enjoy the philosophy the creators have embraced with teaching people the inner workings of Arch Linux rather than giving users a black box. So far everything has worked right out of the box (- locking on suspend, but a quick google search fixed that.). I'm using the i3 environment provided and have been having a good time editing some of the configuration files to make things work the way I like them. I look forward to using the Arcolinux-D and Arcolinux-B editions. Thank you to the Arcolinux team, I'm here to stay.

Great distro with so many options. I've downloaded all three but I suggest you go for Arcolinux B if you would like to try your hand at building a distro to only the things you want. Several scripts are offered to load only the programs you want. The creator has a YouTube channels with TONS of helpful videos. Also, if you have a question, he is very quick to respond with an answer. I asked him how to partition a drive to separate my root from my home drive and he actually make a YouTube video to explain how to do it because he thought it was something someone else might be interested in. Great distro and Excellent developer. If you ever wanted to try your hand at Arch Linux but thought it was too intimidating, try Arcolinux. You won't regret it...heck, you might start using it as your daily driver.

Arco is simply a very good Arch based distro.
It deserves to be up there with Manjaro and could be considered ahead of the Manjaro curve in quite a few areas.
You can 'tailor' the experience to be as close to 'Arch' as you dare or you can soften the process by using one of the pre-configured ISO images with the WM and DE of your choice.
I have followed the install for all flavours and would recommend Arco to anyone, from newbie through to more seasoned Linux users.
Installing Arch from the shell is enlightening but once you've done it a couple of times the fun wears a little thin and this is where Arco wins out - grab an ISO, configured how you like it, install and use - it really is that simple!
Those of you tempted to 'live the Arch way' and fancy trying Manjaro or Endeavour OS you should ensure you have ArcoLinux on your list too.
I'm using ArcoLinux with XFCE, Whisker Menu and Plank - it has drawn some admiring glances from MacOS users who tend to go all 'huffy' when I explain the laptop cost £65 and the OS was free...

Excellent distribution. After Mint, Ubuntu, Mageia, and Manjaro I found this one to be quite interesting. Easy install of 'B' versions with very well done Deepin desktop integration. Would say it's better than Deepin itself in the first place. I'm not the experienced Linux user, but if you like to learn and test things, it's great. The admin supports by plenty of very good made videos and forums all time have an open ear.

A lot of people say Arch is not easy. The Arcoteam has made Arch Easy.
There are so many ISO install options possible with a lot of different desktops to choose from.
You can choose from Full version install with a complete working system.
Or you can decide to learn more about the system and start from a minimal installation with help of little scripts to build up the system yourself.
The Arcoteam their website has A LOT of useful information.
A good mix between video tutorials and of course the big good managed Arch Wiki (FORUM).
Not long ago i used Debian based distro's and ended up with MXLinux as my last main system. Mainly Gui use. A little bit of terminal experience, but not that great.
I always had a bit like Arch = AAARRCH. Terminal, code and endless reading. Hmmm.
Indeed you need to read. Not especially more than i did with Debian. To avoid the rtfm from other people.
But That's where Erik Dubios from the Arcolinux team comes in. He has made more than 1000 video tutorials.
The Full versions are complete and ready to go.
Try it in a Vbox and see for yourself. you will not be disappointed.
I installed ArcolinuxD I3 . Tried Xfce and Openbox.

Arch without the pain but all of the good stuff!
Arch Linux is great - generally very quick and I love the idea of "edge living" so ArcoLinux gives me all of that, as a rolling distro, but with great support on the website and in the forums where questions appear to be answered quickly and helpfully.
I've not had to make use of the forums yet, as everything simply just works, but you can see for yourself how lively and useful they can be.
You can choose how you go about creating your ArcoLinux installation from a simple mount the ISO and install through to an almost "Arch" command line experience.
Great distro - try it, you won't be disappointed!

Wow! I am testing ArcoLinux KDE and I'm blown away at how polished and complete this distro feels. Since Antergos announced it was fading into the sunset, I figured it was a good time to look around at other options. I tried Netrunner Rolling, Bluestar, Archlabs, and Namib. Netrunner was the best of the bunch but I wanted something more bleeding edge. I finally decided to give ArcoLinuxB Plasma (full) a try and it is simply amazing. EVERYTHING works. The refinement is second to none.
Wow. Wow. Wow! Erik D. is the man!

Been distrohoppin' the last year or so, found my way to Arch, then to Arco. Killed all Win installs on all computers and installed Arco on all machines, never looked back. Now im not an expert, my comments are based on everyday stuff I deal with and how this affected my work.
pros
- user friendly GUI
- Xfce runs like a charm, did not try the other platforms
- support from devs is pretty solid, very forthcoming and usually try to help if the question is ArcoLinux related. A lot of videos on youtube
cons
- too many colors, christ i sometimes feel like being on an LSD trip when going through so many options
- current install package has an issue with Erase Disk, leaves some unused space, does not let install occur as it should
Overall would recommend. Package would be even more awesome if it would come with Code-OSS, Lutris and Discord.

Gives you something that looks and feels like Arch, but without the installation hassles of the 'real thing'! Love the OpenBox version: performs nicely, everything easily installable from the repos, nice Conky by default.
There are only two criticisms I'd make, and which stop me giving this 10/10. First, its default text editor is an unregistered copy of Sublime. It's a very good text editor, but it requires registration, is closed source and registration requires parting with something like US$80. Or you could just continue to use an unregistered copy in violation of its license, I guess! Point being, it's a good *option* to include, but to make it the **default** text editor (when truly open source alternatives like notepadqq exist for the taking) seems an odd choice.
My second criticism would be that it uses a heavily-modified .bashrc out of the box to alias a bunch of commands which, in my personal opinion, shouldn't be. In particular, I'd call out the aliasing of "ps" to "ps auxf", which means a ps -ef | grep X won't work. "ls" is also aliased (unnecessarily in my view) to "ls --color=auto". I know why they've chosen to create the aliases they have, and there is a certain method to it... but, in my opinion, you shouldn't aliases basic commands in a way that they cease to behave in a default fashion. By all means add *new* commands which represent a basic_command+preferences, but don't make it impossible to run the basic command in the first place!
Anyway, two minor niggles aside, it's an excellent distro and my main desktop of choice right now, and I'm very happy with it.

Well, as an Arch Linux enthusiast who has never installed and stayed on an Arch based distro more than a day, there seems to be a first time with ArcoLinux (after 10 years)!
Elegant look and feel, one of the best out of the box experiences of mine, very good selection of pre-installed software (could be less numerous though; resulting in a lighter iso and post-installation), exemplary out of the box level of customization through various number of themes, icons, Conky themes, etc and most importantly; not ruining the lovely experience of using Arch Linux by keeping everything Arco related separate (like repos and mirrorlist).
I'm a KDE enthusiast, have been waiting to try Deepin out for a long time and with ArcoLinux Deepin flavor; I'm impressed so far.

ENGLISH:
By trying the distribution in "live" mode it is very fast ... After installation of the system I have 1min30 of startup time, as soon as I start using AUR to install the printer (installation that went well ) and that I install a software via the repository, the system slows down ... there are plenty of preinstalled software that is useless to the common users, and that make the selection menu very cluttered and disturbing to the user, wallpapers that change themselves (often this wallpaper with this woman with piercing ....) while I set on a wallpaper that I chose ... the browser Vivaldi who uninstalls a little difficult ... for me it's just not
FRANCAIS:

Arch without the pain, and without the gaudiness of Manjaro.
Now that Antergos has hit the buffers ArcoLinux is the best option for newbies or idle sods (like me) to run an Arch environment without the aggro.
I'm not too sure why I might need three web browsers or two screen recorders though.

Great rolling Arch based distro without the 'hard-work'!
All the power and speed of Arch Linux and a great way to learn more about this bleeding-edge distro that simply 'works'.
I'm running it on a low-spec lapbook (quad-core CherryTrail SoC machine with 2 GB RAM and a 64GB emmc 'hard-disk', so nothing flashy and it boots, runs and shuts down very quickly - no drawbacks given the limitations of the hardware.
I had a small problem a day or so ago after an update to the Linux kernel - my bluetooth mouse would not stay connected after a restart - this appears to be a known issue and I believe it may be fixed by the kernel team. However, I was able to revert the kernel back using the command
$ downgrade linux
and selected the version I wanted to revert to - just so simple and it takes care of everything for you and even prompts you to 'block' the kernel updates from automatic installation.
Awesome work and a brilliant alternative Arch based distro if you haven't taken to Manjaro and the others - give the ISO a spin, you may just like what the team are doing here!

They have different levels of the same/similar OS so someone can learn a step at a time. I didn't notice messed up fonts or anything, but I'm a function is priority #1 guy, and this does work..
Beyond the basic version it takes time to learn, but that should be expected if you really do want to learn and not just use what was provided.
Its based on Arch, so that has good points, but when you need things outside from AUR, its takes more time and effort than just installing a repo package, because you need to run the scripts to compile and install, which are provided, so you learn from them.
1. Easy distro for anyone to install and learn to tweak
2. Basic distro building scripts for different flavors just install them
3. Take a script you installed and change it around to create a flavor you want
4. Create a whole distro from it

My favorite Arch based distro I've tried so far. Works great with XFCE and runs cooler than other DEs I usually use
I installed it alongside another distro and had no problems

This is an awesome distro. I'm not an expert with Linux but Ive tried them all, Fedora, Yellow Dog (that dates me), Ubuntu, Xubuntu, openSuse, Kaos... This gives you a systems that looks beautiful and works. Rolling updates means it's cutting edge and Arch Linux is solid, the Arch Linux wiki is awesome. The folks in the Arco forums are great teachers and friendly, the opposite of the ARch forums(!), so if you want to learn about ARch Linux this is a very solid distro, Arco is the way to go. Active online presence through Discord. Compared to Manjaro there is less bloat more cutting edge and you learn stuff, you get into the terminal right away, looking at scripts all with the gently guidance of the Arco linux tutorials and crew. Cant say enough about this distro, you thought XFCE was boring, well think again, you can have speed, responsiveness and quality. Just for context i'm a Mac fanboy, or was, converting slowly to Linux, so I'm used to "it just works", unfortunately with the spying and privacy intrusions I'm looking for a replacement, and forget about windows. Starting up SPotify on a Mac is a day long project nowadays but on Arco it pops man, same with Firefox, and this other browser Vivaldi I can see as becoming my goto browser. I've learned so much using Arco, very thankful that the community exists and newb friendly.Awesome job folks.

The best distro I ever used. The only alternative is Manjaro. Arco recognises my Mediatek Wifi USB, my samsung CLX 3180 (Manjaro Mate did not), so the winner for me is Arco. And arco really looks nice and polished. The icons are now coloured (before all grey), which is a great improvement. For the first time I give a distro a big fat deserved 10.

I have not tried any of the distributions but I have used the website extensively to install Arch Linux the so-called Arch Way. The author breaks down the complicated Arch Wiki Installation Guide into a series of commands that anyone with little to no Linux experience can use to get vanilla Arch Linux installed in their desktop or laptop. Keep up the good work and thank you for posting detailed walk-through on your website to install Arch Linux.

Installs easy, on my old laptop it is light on resources, everything just works, and and in IMHO Eric supports this product like no other distro I have used to date.

Never had any issues with Arco (or ArchMerge earlier) during the past 2-2.5 years. The XFCE and KDE installations (1 desktop + 1 Vaio) are smooth on my machines. It is true though that I have Radeon graphics only, thus have 0 experience with Nvidias. I love the (informative and easy to follow) video tutorials as well.

Linda distro, but breaks in many updates and has no written documentation, any doubt we have to watch videos, this is too annoying.

Well, first to say it's great work, nicely preconfigured and easy to customize.
About 12 years? before i gave archlinux a try, and the AUR has been a pain in the ass, so i stuck to gentoo.
Since, archlinux has improved and arco takes it (IMHO) close to perfection.
A big thanks to Eric and the team of ArcoLinux, easy for the ones who want to learn more about Linux, a nice distro for the matured user.
Cheers

Best distro, but unfortunately I can't install NVIDIA 340xx driver. Thunar freeze, so I installed Dolphin. Such a shame. Maybe after I buy a new laptop, I will experiment with the latest NVIDIA driver. But for now I stick with it since it's very stable.

Very easy to install and seems to be stable so far.
Thanks for making this distro.

As a distro i should rate it with 7-8 out of 10 but as a project (with its whole learning path) it has to be 10!
Great tutorials, fantastic scripts which can be used for any arch based distribution without problems or with tiny fixes (like when used for manjaro for example) and top themes!

Fantastic Distro.
I am still learning linux, I am not too comfortable with the command line yet and the archwiki is often over my head.
ArcoLinux and its websites, forums, and especially the videos have helped me tremendously. Honestly, the videos are a great resource even if you don't run ArcoLinux.
I run ArcoLinux as a daily driver but if you want to learn linux, really learn linux, I highly recommend even runing it in a virtual machine. (There are videos to teach you how to do that as well.)
If you use the resources ArcoLinux puts out there, you WILL learn.

I have used various Linux distros now for many years, Solaris and FreeBSD before that, and I have used Linux Mint as my daily driver for the past 3 years, completely replacing Windows on all my machines in that time.
I installed ArcoLinuxB on a low-spec lapbook around a month ago now, more as a 'test' than anything else, and it has remained installed and has had more use than any of my Mint machines in that time.
It has proved to be stable, fast and light on resources - just what I would expect of a modern Linux distro. However, this distro just seem a little 'snappier' than the others and a little less likely to resort to using swap - the lapbook has only 2GB of RAM so this is really quite good!
I really like Arch and Arch based distros but often find them difficult to recommend to less savvy friends and family due to the 'read the wiki' support afforded to them - ArcoLinux is different. The support pages, videos and more, make this a distro where you can comfortably 'learn' Linux if you wish to but can simply use it if you prefer (and anything in between really).
If you want to try an Arch based distro (and don't fancy Manjaro or SwagArch) then this could be the one for you!

I have been a Linux user for sometime and have used many distros but being new to Arch i needed something i could pick up and customize without a huge learning curve, cue the ArcoLinux theme song. The head developer hosts video turorials and post everything via YouTube that you can imagine, every in and out of the OS. The community is very helpful and the devs are accesible on Discord and in no time you will have Arch system you always wanted. The desktop selection makes everyone happy. I am running this on my laptop, virtual machines and soon another desktop. I went full Arco check it out and see what your flavor is.

In the first Highlander there could be only one. I've been using this for ten months now and it just keeps getting better. The pksyua command is fantastic for updating your system. I've continued to try other distros, old and new and I always come back to arcolinux. I have it on several machines and it has no equal. I've even tried the newer up and coming arch distros and some of them should never have been released. This is the distro that will reset the bar for all other distros if it's community keeps going at its current rate. It is the most stable system I have used in years. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I am using ArcoLinuxB after not being able to install the Xfce version of ArcoLinux. I must say that I am delighted with it - and I didn't go for anything minimal! Very reliable and interesting having lots of little additions that make the distribution easy and convenient. Excellent, it suits me nicely. Thank you.

Easy to install, I have been using ArcoLinux for almost four months. Trying to follow Erik's plan I started with ArcoLinux, and have moved to phase two quickly with ArcolinuxD I3 wm. ArcolinuxD is much faster than Arcolinux there is less software that was never used by me. I would suggest anyone start with ArcolinuxD if they can follow simple instructions.
Also, if you ever have a question Erik and the Wiki are there to help.

This is my new favorite distro - easy to get started on Arch and the way they recommend to learn the different window managers that come installed, Openbox and then i3, is great for new users like me. The default XFCE-based desktop is nice and snappy too, much better feeling for me than Ubuntu GNOME which was very laggy in comparison.

Pros: stable, fast, good for beginners and pros. You can stick with the basic or you can change it. don't like the icons. change them, Don't like plank, chromium or vivaldi? Remove them using the package manager or the terminal.
Cons: None
I've looked at several old and new arch distro''s and theres always one thing that bothers me. If one item is broken during upgrade none of the others are upgraded. Now all of the so called Arch purist would say (and I've seen this in print) maybe you should be using Ubuntu. Try to understand that others are trying to use something new and they would like a system that works. It's as simple as that.
I'm using this on an old D830 that until I put this distro on it (and I've been through quite a few) was basically toast. This distro isn't that hard to learn and gets easier as you go alone with minimal drawbacks. I've run into very few problems with arcolinux and have installed it on several machines. It just works. What you don't like you can remove, what you do like works. What more do I need to say

The distribution is nicely complemented by a diverse documentation infrastructure designed to help you skill-up from a Linux newbie to a full- fledged Arch user.
Variety (wallpaper auto switching app) is annoying and is the first thing I remove.
Beyond that just praise for ArcoLinux
