I was looking how to make my older Acer Aspire E11 netbook useful again and came upon this OS.

I had hardly any problems with the installation, the controller support is fine, it was just a simple plug and play. Tried out most of the emulators and the games work like a charm. It delivers where it matters and the GUI is also very pleasing.

The only issue I had to figure out was sending audio via HDMI cable. Using the TV as a monitor worked right of the bat, but the audio needed some tweaking. As with any problem, you can find the solutions on the internet, so it wasn't a big deal.

If you like old games and want to have a portable gaming console, grab it. Good work!

Lakka is a small and bloatfree yet beautiful and powerful and easy to use distro that turns your (mini) PC into a retro gaming console.
Put it on a SD card, put that in your mini PC, get some ROMs and get the party started.
With v2.0 they expanded the selection of systems even more.
Now some home computers (Amiga, C64...) are part of Lakka as well.
They yet don't work as perfect as the consoles (SNES, NES, Sega, PSX...) and aren't yet as editable but they will eventually thanks to the active developers and community.
Controller support (PS3, even Bluetooth...) works beautifully - no config needed, just plug and play, Lakka/Retroarch takes care of everything.
The GUI is beautiful and easy to use - it's based on XMB like PS3 etc.
Lakka boots very fast because it's based on LibreELEC with Retroarch directly embedded into it.
The N64 emulator (Mupen) performs better on Retropie (on my Pi3) but that's not that important to me.
The classic systems work like a charm.
Today Lakka is the most beatiful, easy to use and elegant distro for retro gaming.
Almost a piece of art.
Very well done.
Looking forward to coming versions when the integration of the new emulator system cores will eventually be and work as polished as the old ones that already work super smoothly.
Keep it up guys, Lakka rocks!
