Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view:
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

I installed this a few days ago. I did NOT keep it.
It is PLASMA- and the plasma part works GREAT- smoothe, easy to do global themes- and didn't throw back the ERROR when you try to add a second one like most distros do.
The creative part- all familiar software- but optimized for better performance, all worked GREAT.
I liked the look and feel of the- the layout was good for me-- similar to mac, but with the usual Plasma look on top.
Setting up the local AI was a bit tricky for me because I'd never done it. The documentation was excellent, but I don't know enough about AI to do all the choices of "local, cloud, and all the "models" (names of the different types and uses of AI).

The main issue I had with the distro is after setting everything up- and preparing to import my Bookmarks and Password--- they absolutely REFUSED to be imported. I use BRAVE- and some have criticized that with their political STUPIDITY-- that I ignore. Brave performs better for me and has been EXTREMELY secure. AT any rate- Brave worked fine- until I tried to IMPORT the bookmarks (from an HTML file on my DATA drive- not on another browser)- and my Passwords..(from CSV file also on my data drive within the system). The just would refuse to transfer. I moved the two files onto the system drive in "downloads" and tried importing them from there- and they STILL would NOT import from there either.
After working with AI to get it to import and NOTHING working-- I took SHADOWFETCH off my sytem.
Yes, I know I could have installed those all manually- but that is a LOT of work- and should have been totally unnecessary!!

Overall, the Distro looks and performs GREAT except for the IMPORT function not working. I will WATCH the distro- and when it goes through some more UPDATES and is a bit more mature- I'll try it again.
I love the idea of the LOCAL AI (meaning everything stays ON my computer- not in some STUPID CLOUD-- which is absolutely the stupidest thing anyone EVER uses-and a perfect opportunity to LOSE all your valuable data. The Documentation, as I said was GREAT- simple to read and straight forward--- but my understanding of AI in general and the correct--(CORRECT being the keyword) setup methods was not good enough so I couldn't get it the way I wanted.

Once they get the IMPORT glitch fixed- I WILL give it another try- as it has all the tools in it that I NEED and usually have to add manually to most distros I set up. I did get ONE model of AI working-- not the BEST one- but good- and changed its name to JARVIS and it responded with "GREAT- I get to be the ai assistant to IRON MAN!!".. I liked that.. ha
